The Rush Springs Lady Redskins softball team continues to fight and claw their way to find victories. The Lady Redskins defeated Verden last week 3-1. Other scheduled games were postponed due to rain last week. The Lady Redskins took on Union City in a double header Tuesday. The outcome of those games weren’t available at time of press.
In the Friday win over Verden, both teams were strong in the pitcher’s circle, but Rush Springs prevailed by defeating Verden 3-1. Lillyan Ball allowed just seven hits to Verden. Ball pitched seven innings, allowing seven hits and one run while striking out six.
An early lead helped propel the Lady Redskins, scoring on a groundout by Kimberly Fox and a groundout by Katelyn Fox in the first inning. Myka Brady went 2 for 2 at the plate to lead the Redskins offensively.
